San Antonio Property Owner Avoids Mobile Home Removal Hassle

When we first came across this property, we could see the potential. It was a pretty and secluded 6 acres with beautiful heritage live oak trees. It was also well located south of San Antonio just off of Loop 1604.

But the property had a number of issues too. When Kathy Tedder reached out to us, there were two old, abandoned mobile homes on the property. The homes had not been lived in for some time, but were still full of personal possessions.

The property was also littered with various other junk including an old car, scrap metal, and dozens of tires. The property needed to be cleaned up to make it presentable and ready to be listed for sale.

Here's what Kathy had to say about the process:

Property cleanup steps

The first step to cleanup the property was to mow it. This allowed us to see the extent of the debris around the mobile homes and start hauling it away. Of particular concern were the dozens of tires left on the property. Tires are considered hazardous materials and had to be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Once the area surrounding the trailers was clear, we brought in dumpsters to start removing the mobile homes. The mobile homes were demolished and flattened using a bobcat, and then scooped into 40’ dumpsters. In total, the debris filled 7 dumpsters!

Finally, the whole property was raked and mowed one last time before taking aerial imagery and listing the property for sale.

Conclusion

Cleaning up a property on this scale can be daunting. Getting the property into presentable condition for listing was the result of several days of work for a crew utilizing heavy machinery and many full dumpsters.
